Inclusive music, wellbeing, and creative opportunities for young people

Who are we?

AAM provides inclusive arts workshops for young people and adults, regardless of their needs.

Our activities currently are music focussed, but also include sensory, movement and relaxing activities. We offer group activities with socialising as a high priority as well as 1-1 sessions.

Where & When

Day

Mondays, term time only.

Time:

6pm-7.30pm

Where:

Accessible Arts and Media, Clifton Explore, Rawcliffe Drive, York, YO30 6NS

Regular Sessions

Senior IMPs is for disabled and non-disabled young people aged 11+ who love making music.

Senior IMPs gives you the chance to learn singing and signing, try out lots of different instruments and get involved in songwriting and composing new pieces of music. Typical session activities include:

  • Warm-ups, to help your brain, your voice and your body get ready for making music and singing
  • Learning to sing and sign songs
  • Creating new pieces of music and soundscapes using instruments and music technology
  • Writing songs
  • Working towards performances (we do at least two public performances each year)
